What is the Star Wars Fan Film Race?
The Star Wars Fan Film Competition invites fans, students, and filmmakers of all experience levels to create original short films that celebrate the Star Wars universe. Films can be dramatic, comedic, documentary-style, experimental, or anything in between—as long as they’re clearly fan-made, non-commercial, and family-friendly.
Up to 25 films screens will be screened during the Fan Film Premiere on May 2nd at Santa Fe Blount Hall as part of the May 4th Social celebration.
Rules

Up. to 25 films will be accepted and all submissions need to be in by April 1st, 2026.
Your story can be any genre but must take place in the Star Wars universe.

Films can be up to 5 minutes in length.
Keep the file size below 1 GB.
MP4 or MOV files.
The film should be delivered in 1080p, 16:9 aspect ratio.

No use of generative AI. This means no AI-created characters, backgrounds, voices, or music.
